Food pantry to offer lunch, groceries

GREENFIELD – Enjoy a meal and free grocery pickup at Wellspring Food Pantry next week.

The pantry, located at Brandywine Community Church, is open for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Food pantry pickup is from 1:30-3 p.m. New this month, receive a recipe bag with everything needed for dinner.

Lunch is served in the atrium of the church every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield. For questions, call 317-462-2015.

Cheer foundation to host memorial birthday party

GREENFIELD – Lindsay’s Birthday Bash is coming up May 23, hosted by Lindsay’s Cheer Foundation.

The event is from 5-8 p.m. at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield. The event is in memory of Eastern Hancock student Lindsay Locker, who died in November in a car accident. The foundation raises funds to support youth of all ages to experience cheerleading, one of Lindsay’s passions.

The free community event is designed to bring people together to celebrate Lindsay Locker; there will be bounce houses, face painting, a DJ, walking tacos, snow cones and a balloon release. To register to help the group plan for food, visit facebook.com/LindsaysCheerFoundation.

Chamber to highlight work at soup kitchen

GREENFIELD – Learn about the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen in an upcoming event.

The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will feature Jill Ebbert, director of the soup kitchen, in its June 4 meeting. The event is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Register by May 31 at greenfieldcc.org; cost is $15 for a catered lunch.
