Hotel offers special rates to those on COVID-19 front lines

GREENFIELD — Quality Inn & Suites in Greenfield is offering a special rate to those on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.

The hotel, located at 2270 N. State St., Greenfield, is offering a rate of $60 plus tax to traveling nurses and doctors coming to the area in need of hotel accommodations along with store employees working around the clock and in need of a few hours to rest. A free carry-out breakfast is included.

Eastern Hancock providing free sack lunches

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock Schools will provide free sack lunches to children 18 years old and under for families in which at least one of the children attends Eastern Hancock.

Starting Monday, April 6, one week’s worth of lunches will be available for pick-up each Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at door 25 at the back side of Eastern Hancock Elementary School.

Those signing up for lunches will need to fill out the Lunch Service Google Form found on the Eastern Hancock Facebook page or Eastern Hancock’s website, easternhancock.org.

Nonprofit offering online family support

INDIANAPOLIS — The nonprofit organization Families First is offering a variety of online support groups during the coronavirus pandemic.

The organization offers facilitated support groups for those who have experienced child abuse, domestic abuse or sexual assault and is now holding them online via videoconferencing.

Support groups are offered at various times and are free of charge for current clients. New client assessments are now also being conducted virtually. Families First also offers group therapy for issues including anger management, substance abuse and domestic violence.
