HANCOCK COUNTY — A Greenfield man is facing serious felony drug charges after his arrest on suspicion of dealing methamphetamine.

Nathan Robert Brosseit, 24, 300 block of Harding Avenue, has been charged with two Level 5 felony counts of dealing methamphetamine and two Level 6 felony counts of possession of methamphetamine.

The most serious charges carry up to six years in prison for each count, while the lesser charges carry up to 2½ years each.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Brosseit was part of a Greenfield Police Department drug sting operation where he sold methamphetamine on two occasions starting as early as last September.

Police noted in their report that Brosseit has accumulated at least three prior unrelated felony convictions. Those charges include unlawful possession of a syringe in 2016; unlawful possession of a syringe in 2017 and possession of methamphetamine in 2018, the affidavit said. Investigators noted the suspect could be labeled a habitual criminal if convicted.

Brosseit appeared Monday, March 9, in Hancock County Circuit Court, where he was appointed a public defender and placed under a $5,000 cash bond by Judge Scott Sirk.

Brosseit is set for a pretrial conference April 2.
