Faerene (Cariker) McFarland, 87, of Fortville went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Westminster Village North surrounded by her family. She was born August 12, 1932 in McCrory, Arkansas to Ray and Janie (Dehart) Cariker.

Faerene drove a school bus for Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation and had her own tax business. She was a devout member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene and had been active for many years. She was a Sunday school teacher, Deaconess, Missionary President, Nazarene Youth President and member of the Bus Ministry.

Faerene is survived by children: Janie (Ron) Brown of Fortville; Glenda (Glen) Thompson of Ingalls and Barry McFarland of Fortville; grandchildren: Mike (Joni) Thompson, Sheila Thompson, Sonya (Scott) Cork, Stephanie (Danny) Dotson; great-grandchildren: Johnna Crockett, Joshua Henson, Brittney Tranbarger, Alex Ragsdale, Tyler Botkin, Zachary Botkin, Ava Thompson, Jude Thompson and Toby Cork; great-great grandchildren: Dylan Crockett, Jayden Kemper, Travis Henson, Ryder Henson, Teagan Butler; twin great-great grandsons to be born in May; sister: Frances Kaiser of Marion, Arkansas as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Faerene was preceded in death by her husband Glenn McFarland in 2002; parents; sister: Louise Womack; brothers: Bobby Don Cariker, Walter Cariker and Billy Ray Cariker.

A Celebration of Faerene’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
