Dragons gymnasts down Noblesville

The New Palestine gymnastics team posted a 102.675-82.825 victory Tuesday at Noblesville.

The Dragons won two events. Grace Shanahan won bars with an 8.875, while Kennedy Garrett won beam with a 9.3.

Addie Halter led the Dragons on floor with an 8.8, with Garrett third and Shanahan fourth. On beam, Shanahan was third and Emma Poag fourth. On bars, Alyse Rickey finished third, Poag fourth and Garrett fifth. On vault, Poag was third, Shanahan fourth, Audrey O’Dell fifth and Addie Halter sixth.

The Dragons next compete Saturday in the Rushville Invitational.

Basketball state tourney pairings show set

The 110th annual IHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament Pairings Show will take place on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.

The state tournament draw can be viewed via webstream at IHSAAtv.org or heard on the IHSAA Champions Network.

The drawing will be hosted by Bob Lovell and Greg Rakestraw. Complete pairings will be available at IHSAA.org following the live broadcast.

Cougars hosting alumni night next week

Greenfield-Central High School is hosting alumni night Feb. 11 to recognize and honor basketball players, coaches, managers, trainers, mascots and cheerleaders from the “0” years (2010, 2000, 1990, 1980, 1970, 1960, 1950, 1940, 1930, 1920) from Greenfield, Maxwell, Eden, Hancock Central and Greenfield-Central high schools.

All will be recognized on the floor at halftime of the varsity basketball game against Knightstown.

Alumni are asked to email [email protected] if they plan to attend. Those who graduated in the listed “0” years get in for free.

Panthers, Bears, Wildcats lead latest poll

The Bloomington South Panther remain unbeaten on the season and continue to occupy the top-spot in the latest Indiana Basketball Coaches Asssociation’s Weekly Top 20 Boys Poll.

There was a tie for second in the rankings with both Lawrence North and rival Lawrence Central rounding out the top three teams in the state.
