Firm breaks ground on spec buildings

MT. COMFORT — Work is under way on the first of four speculative buildings for e-commerce and logistics tenants that Indianapolis-based Ambrose Property Group is bringing to Hancock County.

The logistics center — located on 166 acres on the north side of West County Road 300N and west of North County Road 400W — totals a $78 million capital investment.

The first building will be a 508,104-square foot logistics center that is expandable to 660,384 square feet. The other three buildings Ambrose plans to develop will be a combination of large and smaller buildings to attract a diverse range of businesses.

Educator to help develop career website

INDIANAPOLIS — Tami Neighbors has joined AgriNovus Indiana as its new field atlas manager and will continue the ongoing content development and promotion of the firm’s Field Atlas platform.

Field Atlas is a career exploration website for students to discover innovative careers in the agbiosciences that AgriNovus will release in early 2020. The platform aims to build world-class talent by creating interest in agbioscience career opportunities.

Neighbors has served in education and organizational-related roles with the Indiana FFA and as a student teacher university supervisor for Purdue University. She started her career as the agricultural educator at Mt. Vernon High School.

Jim Dandy Restaurants celebrate 55 years

HANCOCK COUNTY — Jim Dandy Restaurants is celebrating its 55th year of doing business in Indiana.

Featured items in the celebration, which runs through Nov. 17, include drawings at each location — Greenfield, Tipton and Noblesville — with a grand prize of $500 in gift certificates from each location, and other daily food prizes.

Home sales, prices rise year-over-year

HANCOCK COUNTY — An Indianapolis-based real estate firm reports pending home sales in Hancock County increased 29.7% last month compared to October 2018, and home prices rose 7.4% to $221,860 year-to-date over 2018.

The 16-county central Indiana region experienced similar gains, according to F.C. Tucker. The October 2019 average home sale price was $222,294. Year-to-date, average sales price increased to $225,006. Pending home sales increased 8.7 percent, and home inventory decreased by 4.2 percent.
