‘Wait Until Dark’ is suspenseful thriller

NOBLESVILLE — The Hamilton County Theatre Guild presents “Wait Until Dark.” A con man is about to meet his match. He has traced the location of a mysterious doll to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy. Sam had been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border, not knowing that sewn inside were several grams of heroin. When the woman is murdered, the situation becomes more urgent. The con man convinces Susy that the police have implicated Sam in the woman’s murder, and the doll is evidence of his innocence. She refuses to reveal its location, and a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues between the two. “Wait Until Dark” opens Sept. 27 and runs through Oct. 13 at the Belfry, 10690 Greenfield Ave. Visit thebelfrytheatre.com for ticket prices and show times.

Ensemble does ‘Trap’ — documentary-style drama

INDIANAPOLIS — Buck Creek Players present “Trap” Sept. 27 through Oct. 6 at the Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Ave. In Menchap, California, every person in the audience of a high school play falls unconscious — except one. Through interviews with witnesses, loved ones, first-responders and the investigators pursuing the case, a theater ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style. But as the strands weave together into a dangerous web, it becomes clear that this phenomenon might not be entirely in the past.
