FORTVILLE —The Class of 2019 celebrated its graduation preparation by participating in the “Marauder Mile,” a model to younger students that they, too, can achieve the ultimate accomplishment: graduation.

Seniors had the opportunity to parade through all three Mt. Vernon elementary schools, as well as Mt. Vernon Middle School (MVMS). The seniors were greeted by the students who lined the halls, giving them high-fives throughout their walk. The parade through the schools not only allows the graduating seniors to reflect on their time at Mt. Vernon and visit the schools one last time as a student, but it also serves to inspire the younger students to do their best to graduate.
