GREENFIELD

Marcelle L. (Ging) McDaniel a resident of Greenfield for the past 19 years died on June 4, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital.

Marcelle was born June 15, 1927 to Wendell and Amy (Hamon) Ging in Rush County, Indiana. Marcelle attended Gings School and graduated from the Mays High School in 1945. She married the love of her life Dwight Lee McDaniel on June 23, 1946, at the Ben Davis Creek Christian Church in Rush County. They celebrated 45 years of wedded bliss. They loved traveling the U.S. with their friends. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marcelle loved her family and friends spending hours playing games with them and helping out when needed. She was an excellent cook and baker and received great joy in sharing her talents and recipes with her family and friends.

Marcelle was a charter member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Rushville. She worked for Rush County Farm Bureau Co-Op and retired from the Madison County Co-Op. Marcelle was also a cook at the Mays High School. She was a member of the Pans and Platter Extension Homemakers Club in Madison County and the Ahwenasha Extension Club in Hancock County. In addition, she was a volunteer at Community Hospital in Anderson and the Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She spent many hours knitting items to be donated to both gift shops. Her hands were always busy.

Marcelle is a member of Center Christian Church in Rush County and was always a willing volunteer at Church. While a member at the Greenfield Christian Church she started knitting prayer shawls that she took to the sick and shut-ins.

Marcelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Fred H. Lowe, III; and grandson, Fred D. Lowe.

Marcelle is survived by her daughters, Linda Lowe of Greenfield, Rita (David) Suchanek of Aurora, Ohio, and Donna McDaniel of Greenfield; grandson, Michael (Jessica) Lowe; granddaughter, Heather (Val) Jurca; and great-grandchildren, Bradley and Allison Lowe and Daniel, Alex, and Reagan Jurca.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Center Christian Church, 9112 N. 50 W., Knightstown, IN 46148 with viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Center Christian Cemetery in Knightstown.
