Zimmerman, The King’s Brass to play

GREENFIELD — Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass will appear in concert at 7 p.m. June 26 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S. State St.

They present hymn classics with a contemporary flair. The King’s Brass features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards. The King’s Brass, formed four decades ago in Detroit, is comprised of professional musicians from across the country, who desire to use the instruments they love to lead others in praise and worship. Based out of Fort Wayne, the group plays more than 150 concerts per year.

Admission is free to the public. No reservations are needed.

Electronics recycling set at Mt. Lebanon UMC

GREENFIELD — Dispose of unwanted household electronics at a recycling event in June.

Technology Recyclers will accept items from 8 a.m. to noon June 8 at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

CRT monitors and tube TVs can be disposed of for $20 each.

For other items, the event is free, but donations will be accepted. Accepted items include computers, laptops, office copiers, speakers, VCRs, cables and wires, medical electronics, batteries, printers, fax machines, PDAs, DVD players, stereos, cell phones, lab equipment, microwaves, game systems and more.

Items that will not be accepted include clothing, furniture, paint, toxic chemicals, wood and tires.

Amity to serve chicken and noodles

Philadelphia church plans rummage sale

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia United Methodist Church’s indoor rummage sale continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (June 1) at the church, 2265 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield.

Baked goods and lunch will also be available for purchase.

Presbyterian Women plan rummage sale

McCORDSVILLE — The Presbyterian Women of Christ Presbyterian Church, 7879 N. County Road 700W, have been cleaning up and clearing out their closets, basements, garages and attics in preparation for the annual rummage sale. The sale began Friday and continues from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (June 1).

This annual fundraiser will feature a wide variety of items including small appliances, housewares, dishes, glassware, linens, tools, outdoor items, games and books. For items not priced, shoppers may make an offer. All reasonable offers will be accepted.

Proceeds from the sale go to support local missions such as the Angel Connection Food Pantry in McCordsville and the worldwide missions of the Presbyterian Church. For more information, call 317-335-7600.

McCordsville dinner has Italian flair

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next community dinner is set for 4:30 to 7 p.m. June 8 at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

The menu features Italian fare with a salad bar and desserts. Free-will offerings are accepted from those able to make them.

Church to offer day camp for boys

FORTVILLE — Openings remain for the Boys-to-Men Day Camp, set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 17-21 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1574 W. State Road 234, Fortville.

The camp is open to boys going into first through fifth grades. Cost is $50 per boy; a second boy in a family can attend for $20, and any other boys in that family can attend free.
