NPCFL hosting dinner, silent auction

The New Palestine Cadet Football League is to hosting its first-ever NPCFL Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, May 4.

The event will be at 6 p.m. at the New Palestine High School gym and will feature New Palestine legends Todd Yoder, Matt Canada, Kyle Ralph and Marv Shepler. This event is for anyone, NPCFL or community.

AP honors area basketball players

The Associated Press announced its all-state basketball teams Tuesday, with several Hancock County athletes earning honorable mention designations.

On the boys side, New Palestine’s Maximus Gizzi is the lone representative, earning honorable mention all-state.

Four girls were honored, with Greenfield-Central’s Hannah Farrell joining three New Palestine players on the honorable mention list – Jordan Reid, Katie Herron and Leah Seib.

Eastern Hancock hosting fundraiser

Eastern Hancock is hosting a fundraiser to support the Riley Charles Settergren Foundation and the Justin Locker Foundation on May 4.

The first-ever Juggernaut 4 will include a bake sale starting at 10 a.m., and then four events beginning on the Eastern Hancock track: the 40-yard dash at 10:15 a.m., squat at 10:50, bench press at 11:50 and the power clean at 12:50 p.m.

Doors open and registration will begin May 4 at 9 a.m. Cost is $15. There will be men’s and women’s divisions, and the top three competitors will get ribbons.
