GREENFIELD
Damon Phillip Thomas, age 36, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. He was born in Marion County on June 2, 1982 to Michael E. and Jessie E. (Phillips) Thomas.
He graduated from Emmanuel High School and received his associates degree in information technology from Southern New Hampshire in 2018. Damon married Lana (Shelby) on June 7, 2014 in Marion County.
He worked for Landmark DBM as a lawn technician and also worked for the Indiana Department of Administration. Damon enjoyed building and racing slot cars, fishing, hiking and listening to music.
He liked building, fixing, and gaming on his computer and playing Xbox games with his friends, son and father. Damon most of all adored his family, wife, and two children.
Damon is survived by his wife, Lana Jean Thomas of Greenfield; son, Eugene Ray Thomas (13) of Greenfield, daughter, Zoa Jean Thomas (6) of Greenfield; parents, Michael and Jessie Thomas of Indianapolis; sisters, Rhiannon (Shaun) Barry of Noblesville and Cassandra (Hammam) of Noblesville; aunt, Cindee Phillips of Indianapolis; mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Leah Shelby; brother-in-law, Roscoe (Amanda) Shelby of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Lori Stephens and Lisa Kane both of Greenfield; grandparents-in-laws, Warren and Betty Hill of New Castle; and several aunts, uncles, cousins; nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
