Dragons season comes to an end

COLUMBUS — The New Palestine gymnastics team saw its season come to and end Friday in the Columbus East Regional.

The Dragons finished in fifth as a team with a score of 99.925. Columbus North finished in first with a 109.650, Richmond second with a 105.350, Columbus East third with a 104.925.

New Palestine freshman Kennedy Garrett finished ninth on the vault (8.8), 13th on the bars (8.2), eighth on the beam (8.725) and 17th on the floor (8.675) to help her finish seventh in the all-around (34.650).

Grace Shanahan finished 12th in the all-around (33.050). She was 23rd on the vault (8.35), 16th on the bars (8.05), 18th on the beam (7.975) and 20th on the floor (8.675).

Emma Poag finished 15th in the all-around (31.175). She was 21st on the vault (8.450), 25th on the bars (7.575), 27th on the beam (6.8) and 24th on the floor (8.35).

Sarah Thompson placed 13th on the floor (9.175) and 19th on the vault (8.5) and 28th on the floor (6.25).

Alyse Rickey placed 24th on the bars (7.65).
