HANCOCK COUNTY — Officials with the Hancock County 911 Center reported AT&T customers had issues trying to dial 911 Thursday evening.

While the outage didn’t cause any major issues, county safety officials would like area residents to know they can also call the 911 Center at 317-477-4400 and ask for help should 911 not work in the future. Officials also are encouraging people to save the number in case of an emergency.

Residents can receive text message notifications about 911 outages, as well as weather and traffic incidents, from their SMART 911 profile. All residents have to do is visit www.smart911.com, look under alerts, and be sure to check 911 outages.
