NEW PALESTINE
Robert Frank Chandler, Jr., 79 of New Palestine, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was born on April 16, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late Robert F. Chandler, Sr. and Kathryn (Shields) Chandler.
Bob worked as a mechanic for Ben Hur and Cardinal Equipment, retiring after 30+ years of service. He was a hard worker and devoted family man.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia (Rogers) Chandler; children, Candis (Paul) Ervin and Ron (Aracely) Chandler; grandchildren, Brandon (Angela Hickey) Ervin, Justin (Sara) Ervin, Ashley (Levi) Jones, Alexandra Chandler, John (Angela) Chandler, Cassandra (Zachary Jones) Chandler; great-grandchildren, Hailey Ervin, Madison Jones, Colton Ervin, Alexis Jones, Peyton Chandler, Ellie Chandler. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn Haney and Wanda Elkins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Donald Lee Chandler.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with funeral services immediately following. Bob will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
