GREENFIELD
Charlene (Cave) Pool, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2018 at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born in Indianapolis on November 21, 1934 to Lou and Ruth Cave. Charlene graduated from Shortridge High School in 1952 and later that year married her husband, John Pool, on October 25 in Indianapolis.
She worked for Community East Hospital for more than 20 years in ER registration. Charlene was also a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and volunteered her time at the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup kitchen and The Landing. She enjoyed reading, swimming, and dancing and loved making people feel loved and well cared for.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Carol) Pool of McCordsville, James Pool of Indianapolis; daughters, Julie (Terry) Schuck of Wilkinson, Cathy Pool of Orlando, FL, Laura (Rex) Minchin of Corydon, Janet Mednick of Longwood, FL, Karen (Scott) Brooks of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Brandi (Jeff), Jared, Hunter, Mitch, Colin and Savannah; and one great-grandchild Miranda. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Harriett, Becky, Marietta; and brothers, Donnie and Bud.
A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, 207 W Park Ave, Greenfield, IN 46140 with a gathering one hour prior to the service. There will be a meal following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, Hancock County Community Foundation 312 E. Main Street Greenfield, IN 46140 Attn: KBMSK Fund 46140.
