GREENFIELD
Arletta Rae (Boruff) Bowman, 90, of Greenfield, IN, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1928 to Frank Boruff and Ollie (Moore) Boruff in Bloomington, IN.
She met and married the love of her life, Donald M. Bowman, who preceded her in death, passing away in 1995. She later worked as a cashier for Standard Grocery for 24 years. Arletta had many joys in life, she loved sewing, going to auctions, and was a devoted member of the Park Chapel Christian Church. However, she found that her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family, being a loving wife, mother, Grammy, and Gigi.
Arletta is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann (Dale) DeRome; daughter, Donna (Joseph) Wyatt; grandchildren, Mike DeRome, Kim Frederick, Ryan DeRome, Dana (Shane) Jones, Tricia (Doug) Sheridan, Beth (Bryan) Weiss; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bowman; her twelve brothers and sisters; her grandson, Marc Jones; and her special friend, Veldon Oliver.
Friends may gather in Arletta’s memory on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hendryx Mortuary – Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington St., Indianapolis, IN, 46229. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will follow services at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
