GREENFIELD
James Edward Dowling, 91, joined his wife Rosemary in heaven on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Jim was born in Greenfield, IN, on April 14, 1927, to John Thomas and Mary Grace (Nigh) Dowling.
He retired as an executive accountant from Allison’s Detroit Diesel Division of General Motors after 47 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, the first president of Jaycees and a member of Bradley United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
Chief is survived by his daughter, Kathy and grand dog, Piper. He will be sadly missed by Kathy, Stuart, Chris, Lindsay, Cooper, Addie Jo, Michael, Alyssa, Brynn, and Nash Barr, Joey and Pam Johnson, Nick Tuttle; nieces and nephews, Candy Castellanos, Bob (Pam) Arnold, Valerie Shake, MaryBeth McGee, Paula Lawrence, and Patrick McQuade; several great nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rosemary; daughter, Christine Dowling; and sister, Jean (Bob) Arnold.
There will be no calling or services per his request.
