“Prelude to a Kiss” is contemporary fairy tale

GREENFIELD — The Ricks-Weil Theatre Company presents “Prelude to a Kiss,” Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St. Peter and Rita have a whirlwind romance. But at their wedding, when a mysterious Old Man asks to kiss the bride, there’s a rush of wind and a low rumble. Rita and the Old Man have somehow magically exchanged souls and are trapped in each other’s bodies. Together, Peter, Rita, and the Old Man devise a plan to reverse the magic. Greenfield-Central Drama presents student-directed one-acts

GREENFIELD — Greenfield-Central High School theater troupe presents “A Night of One Acts,” Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Greenfield-Central High School, 810 N. Broadway. The three student-directed plays are: “Upper West Side Story,” “So Alike” and “Superheroes: With Great Power Comes Ordinary Responsibility.” Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and kids available at gcscdrama.weebly.com or at the door before the show.

“Our Town” on stage at the Belfry

NOBLESVILLE — The Belfry, 10690 Greenfield Ave., now in its 54th season, presents “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. “Our Town” tells the story of everyday lives in a fictional small town in America during the early 1900s. Performed with props and pantomime on a bare stage with props and pantomime, life, love and death unfolds, offering universal truths about what it means to be human. “Our Town” plays through Sept. 30.
