GREENFIELD
Robert P. Stanley, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on January 19, 1939 in Rush County as the son of Roy Stanley and Lillian (Benefiel) Colestock. He graduated from Carthage High School and served in the U.S. Army. Robert married Wanda M. Owens on November 25, 1977 at Greenfield Christian Church.
He was an insurance broker for J.C. Penney Life Insurance and also worked for Century21 and Farm Bureau. Robert was a member of Greenfield Christian Church and was a part of the ROMEOs men fellowship group. He was an avid IU and Colts fan. Robert enjoyed camping, woodworking, and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda Stanley of Greenfield; daughter, Penny L. Stanley of Greenfield; step-sons, Terry (Tamara) Jones of Plainfield and J. Michael (Virginia) Jones of LaPorte; brother, John (Betty) Stanley of Salem; sister, Reta Mundell of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Roy Stanley and Lillian Colestock; daughter, Jane A. Stanley; and infant sister.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Frank H. Everett will be officiating.
