Cumberland Arts has extended the registration deadline for its plein air painting competition.

Deadline for plein air competition extended

CUMBERLAND — The deadline to participate in the Cumberland Arts Festival Plein Air Art Competition has been extended to June 30. The theme for the competition is “Ten Worthy Places.” Art work from the plein air competition will be displayed along with other artwork from 5 to 8 p.m. on Preview Night, Aug. 15 at historic The Buckley House, 11706 E. Washington St. Winners will be announced at the Cumberland Arts Festival on Aug. 18. The event is open to the public. Learn new papercraft techniques in workshop

INDIANAPOLIS — Palette and Paper offers a workshop on the creative possibilities of distress oxide ink from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Palette and Paper, 6421 Oaklandon Road. The workshop covers using oxides on a variety of papers, with heat emboss resist, in combination with Distress Inks and with ribbon and fabric. Outdoor photo contest highlights state parks
