Indy’s Quilters Guild to meet at local church

INDIANAPOLIS — The Quilters Guild of Indianapolis (QGIS) will meet at noon June 28 at Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 South Meridian St. The program “Fresh Finishes for Unfinished Quilt Tops” will be presented by Capi Saxton and Stephanie Coy-Lykes from Noblesville’s Always in Stitches Quilt Shop. Fortville’s Got Talent to hold auditions for acts

FORTVILLE — Fortville’s Got Talent will hold auditions for ages 10 and older from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Ten West Center for the Arts, 10 W. Tenth St. The competition will accept between 20 and 25 acts in the following categories: vocal, instrumental, dance and variety (comedians, magicians, acrobats, etc.). The competition will be held in the southwest parking lot at 7:30 July 10. Awards will be presented to top vocal, top dance, top variety, champion age 10 to 13, age 13 to 17, 18 and older and an overall grand champion. Ride Like the Wind with a mixed-media class

FORTVILLE — Use paint, inks, paper, stencils and more to create a mixed-media art piece with a bike theme from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at At Home With Us, 202 S.
