State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy and the Interim Study Committee on Government.
“The Interim Study Committee on Government will focus on statutes governing state and local public works projects,” Cherry said. “The summer study committee on fiscal policy will examine the allocation of local income tax revenue and the fiscal, economic and workforce development impact of Indiana smoking rates, among other topics. These summer study committees will hear from the public and expert witnesses, and work on recommending potential legislation ahead of next session.”
He will also serve as the chair of the State Fair Advisory Committee and as a member of the State Budget Committee.
Cherry said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
