Mt. Vernon seniors set record for scholarships and awards

FORTVILLE — Many students from the senior class of 2018 were recognized for their outstanding achievements during Mt. Vernon High School’s Senior Honor Night.

The evening began with the seniors entering the stage as their names were announced with the college or university they plan to attend next year as well as their intended major. It ended with a reception hosted by the Mt. Vernon Education foundation to honor students and their families.

Throughout the ceremony, more than $8 million in scholarships were awarded to Mt. Vernon students, setting a record.
