Footlite musical features 70s tunes

INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals presents “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” the story of three drag artists who set out on a road trip across Australia to perform at a casino. The ulterior motives are: to reconnect Tick with his young son; distract Bernadette from her grief after the death of her lover; and Adam wants to blatantly disrespect the aboriginal sacred land and climb to the top of Ayers rock in a frock to sing Kylie Minogue tunes. Along the way they endure car trouble, face hostile locals and sing 23 70s dance tunes such as “I Will Survive,” “It’s Raining Men,, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “MacArthur Park.” This production will feature the original Broadway & Academy Award winning outrageous costumes from New York. The show opens Friday at Footlite Musicals, 1847 N. Alabama St., and runs through May 20. Performance dates, times and ticket prices can be found at footlite.org.
