GREENFIELD — Greenfield police are searching for a man they believe stole money out of a cash register at the Greenfield Walmart.
The theft reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Officials said the suspect came to the customer service area at Walmart, 1965 N. State St., and hid behind the counter. When no one was looking, the man used an unknown tool to break into the cash register, pocketing an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
When an employee spotted the man and confronted him, he fled, police said. He drove from the store parking lot in a silver or white Chevrolet Camaro.
