Charles Dewayne “Bookie” Trent, 66, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his home.

He was born on April 17, 1951, in Greenfield, Indiana, the son of Glen Richard and Chrystal (Smith) Trent.

He served in the United States Navy and was a former member of the Eagles, VFW, and American Legion. Bookie was a self-employed Drywall Finisher and Hanger, and was also formerly employed as a foreman/metal stud framer with General Dynamics.

He is survived by his wife, Regina (Middleton) Trent, whom he married August 7, 1976; two sons, Charles Daugherty of Greenfield, IN and Cody Trent of Greenfield, OH; four daughters, Evalina Chaffin of Corpus Christi, TX, Kristie Cross of Greenfield, IN, Jacinda (Jeremy) Wilson of Greenfield, OH, and Brandy (Sean) Gillaspie of Indianapolis, IN; three grandsons, Ricky and David Thompson and Chris Cox; two granddaughters, Felicity Erwin and Trinity Chaffin; two great granddaughters, Lillian and Eliza; two brothers, James (Candi) Trent and Shawn (Caroline) Trent both of Greenfield, IN; one sister, Rosemary Ellis-Dean of Redmond, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, David Trent and both parents.

He will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at Riley Park in Greenfield, Indiana.
