GREENFIELD — Families and people of all ages are invited to a community dig in the “Nature Nook” garden from 1 to 4 p.m. April 14 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. No signup is required.

Volunteers will help prepare garden beds and put in donated plants to attract birds, butterflies and bees for children to view from inside the library. Leadership Hancock County, Home Depot and the Hancock County Master Gardeners Association partnered to design a landscape that changes with the seasons.

Those who participate should dress to get dirty and, if they have them, bring garden tools. Refreshments will be available. In case of rain, families can work on ornamental crafts for the garden in the library’s youth program room.
