Tourism commission welcomes new member

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Tourism Commission on Tuesday had a complete roster once again.

Greenfield Mayor Chuck Fewell appointed Amanda Everidge to the open position on the seven-member board. Everidge is Hancock Regional Hospital’s healthy community coordinator, managing the hospital’s Healthy 365 community health efforts.

She previously served as the system of care coordinator, and before that, the hospital’s social services coordinator.

She replaces member Dan Theobald, a former Shelbyville mayor who served on the commission for a few months before resigning.

The county tourism commission awards about $200,000 in grants to area nonprofits and other organizations whose efforts promote tourism in the county.
