Pauline Roberts Adkins, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at Morristown Manor. Born July 28, 1923 in Ashland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Floyd Roberts and Dora (Cameron) Roberts.

Survivors include children, Steve Adkins (Linda) of Shelbyville, Stan Adkins (Lynne) of Brick, New Jersey,

Lesa Adkins (Terry Neeley) of Shelbyville; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Adkins (Cary) of Derby, Connecticut,

Kristen McShea (Jim) of Lake Como, New Jersey; 5 great-grandchildren, Delaney, Teagan, MacKenzie, and

Taryn Adkins, & Justin McShea.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Herbert Adkins; and 3 sisters, Aileen Adkins, Maxine Clemmons, and Lorean Hammond.

Mrs. Adkins had lived in this area for most of her lifetime. She was a home maker and had been a factory worker at the Shelbyville Garment Factory for a few years. She had also been a sales consultant with Sarah Coventry and Avon. She and her husband Herbert also owned and operated Adkins Variety Store at Wilson Corner for several years.

She attended Shelbyville Town & Country Church, was a member of American Legion Auxillary, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary Aerie #766, where she was a charter member and past officer.

Pauline enjoyed square dancing in earlier years. She loved dogs, and taking long drives through the country.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437

Amos Road, with visitation there on Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Burial will be in

Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice or Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
