Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Scalf) Macy, 80, of Greenfield, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born on March 15, 1937 in Marion County as the daughter of Samuel and Laura Scalf.

She graduated from Mt. Comfort High School in 1955. Dottie married Thomas D. Macy on November 14, 1954 in Greenfield. They just celebrated their 63rd anniversary together.

Dottie attended Park Chapel Christian Church where she loved singing in the choir. She worked at Eastern Hancock High school as a librarian and a social worker at Hancock Memorial Hospital. She loved to collect Blue Willow Ware dishes and was famous for her oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Tom Macy of Greenfield; children, Dottie (Mark) Copeland of Greenfield, Melinda (Walt) Sell of LaPorte, IN, Dale Macy of Tipton, IN and Beth Anne (Joe) Rutledge of Greenfield; sister, Virginia Waymire; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Scalf and sister, Betty Book.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor David Woods will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
