Rebecca S. Barber, 75, of New Palestine, passed away on December 9, 2016, at her home in New Palestine with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 3, 1941, in Urbana, Ill., to Morris D. Foster and Virginia I. (Atkinson) Foster.
She later met and married Thomas L. Barber and they have enjoyed many happy years together. After completing her education in nursing, Rebecca worked for several as an LPN for the Marion County Home. Following her work as a nurse, she worked at home, raising and taking care of her family. Rebecca was an avid reader, who also enjoyed antiquing, knitting, and crocheting, but found the most joy in the time she spent among family and close friends.
In addition to her husband; she is survived by her daughter, Joyce Elaine (Allen) Cooper; granddaughter, Kendra (Michael) Gaines; granddaughter, Candice Cooper and her fiancé, Zachary McFarland; great-grandsons, Micah, Thomas, and Benjamin; brother, Michael (Pam) Foster; brother, Kennard (Margaret) Foster; sister, Sarah (Joe) Linville; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Virginia Lou Barber.
No services are scheduled at this time.
