Walter “Rusty” Lowell Sweet passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2016. He was born on May 29, 1963, in Greenfield, to Walter and Virginia Sweet.
Rusty served in the Navy and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He worked as an IT specialist but was a jack of all trades throughout his adulthood. He spent his time riding his Harley and camping. He loved Music and played many instruments. He was well known for being a great storyteller and loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his sons, Zachary (Meagen) Sweet, Jacob (Shelby) Sweet, and Daniel Sweet; daughter, Brittany (Tyler) Bouma; grandsons, Conner and William Sweet; brother, Ronnie Sweet; and aunt, Sissy Yozipovich.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lowell Sweet; and mother, Virginia Ann (Curry) Sweet-Tomey.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, September 11, at the Greenfield VFW, 529 Apple St. Greenfield, IN.
