GREENFIELD — A Colorado man told a young girl he sexually assaulted for years “not to cause drama” by reporting the abuse, court documents said.

Robert M. Armold, 36, 2705 King St., Apt. When the abuse started, Armold fondled the girl; then it progressed to sex, according to court records.

After the girl told her mother about the abuse, the girl was sent out of state to live with a relative, court records state.

Armold had told the girl he had fantasies about the two being together; he wished he was 12 years younger so they could be in a relationship, she told police, court records state.

Armold pleaded not guilty Friday to three Class B felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and one Class C felony count of sexual misconduct with a minor.

At press time Friday, he remained in the Hancock County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
