GREENFIELD — A Colorado man told a young girl he sexually assaulted for years “not to cause drama” by reporting the abuse, court documents said.

Robert M. Armold, 36, 2705 King St., Apt. A, Colorado Springs, Colorado, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor after a girl told the Indiana Department of Child Services Armold sexually assaulted her multiple times over the span of a few years when the man lived in Greenfield.

When the abuse started, Armold fondled the girl; then it progressed to sex, according to court records.

Armold pleaded not guilty Friday to three Class B felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and one Class C felony count of sexual misconduct with a minor. At press time Friday, he remained in the Hancock County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
