Local housing data shows increases


HANCOCK COUNTY — A review of local housing data shows an increase in closed home sales and new listings in Hancock County.

Data from December 2014 through February revealed a 15.7 percent increase in new listings and a 15.4 percent increase in closed sales in Hancock County compared with the same time last year.

Average sale prices also saw an increase.

For the three-month comparison, the average sale price rose to $153,492, a 3.5 percent increase.

In February, however, the average sale price saw a 1.2 percent decline.

In central Indiana, new listings increased by 13.4 percent; pending sales increased by 13.8 percent, average sales price increased by 8.4 percent; and closed sales increased by 12.6 percent.
