Jerry M. Hatcher, 64 of Greenfield, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 5, 2014, at St. Vincents Heart Hospital, Carmel. He was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Memphis, Tenn., to Ross Hatcher Jr. and Jean (Baty) Hatcher.

Jerry served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor Degree from Purdue University and was an Electrical Science Engineer prior to his retirement in 2002.

Jerry loved to fish, play guitar, enjoyed music and NASCAR. He also loved to do computer work for people in his spare time.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Smith and stepfather, Del Smothers of Greenfield; son, Jerry (Shanon) Hatcher, Jr.; brothers, Stan (Kathy) Hatcher, Carlton Hatcher all of Greenfield, Glen Hatcher of New Castle; sister, Teresa Hatcher of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Connie Brown of Fla.; grandchildren, Hayden, Riley and McKenzie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father; wife, Evelyn (Neice) Hatcher; son, Bruce Hatcher and brother, Kim Hatcher.

Friends may call from 12 – 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with burial following the service at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
