Mary Ellen Agee, 73, of New Palestine died Aug. 2, 2014. She was born May 14, 1941, in Beech Grove to the late Samuel and Rose Mary (Gilpin) Whited.
Mary Ellen worked as a medical transcriptionist with St. Francis Hospital and retired in 2007.
She enjoyed art, music, literature, history and was a great fan of Abraham Lincoln. She also enjoyed lecturing friends about current events on Facebook.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathon (Kathleen) Agee, and Matthew “Charlie” (Jennifer) Agee; two daughters, Rebecca Reyes and Sarah (Scott) Strain; two brothers, Jerry and David Whited; a sister, (and caregiver) Judy Corn; seven grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Whited; and a sister, Delores Frank.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
