Jerry W. Roberts, 65, Greenfield, soared with the angels on May 5, 2014. He was born on Thanksgiving Day in 1948 in Beech Grove, as the son of Jesse E. and Bette (Hess) Roberts. He graduated from Franklin Central High School.
He was a truck driver for over 42 years, most recently for Summitt Trucking, before retiring in 2013. He was an excellent provider for his family. Jerry loved spending time with his dogs, Archie and Moe, and was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Jerry is survived by his children, Beverly (James Held) Cook of Greenfield, Matthew Lanham of Virginia Beach, and Abagail Roberts of Greenfield; children’s mother Martha Phillips of Lafayette, Ind.; sister, Grace (Phil) Stewart of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Dakota Cook, Madison Lanham, Blake Scheidenberger, and Lukas Matthews; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Bette (Hess) Roberts.
