Bessie R. Hopper, 81, of Knightstown, died on Feb. 6, 2013. Born on June 15, 1931, in Orleans, Ind., she was the daughter of Lester Bartlett and Eva M. Bartlett-Carnes. Bessie married Herman L. Hopper.
Surviving her are her daughters, Brenda (William) Hurd of Greenfield and Beverly (Fred) Rittenberry of Indianapolis; siblings, James (Pam) Bartlett of Mitchell, Mary (Ed) Patterson of St. Charles, Mo., and Fay Bartlett of Hamilton, Ohio; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, John J. Hopper; and granddaughter, Michelle Hurd-Woodruff.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Debbie Beason will be officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
