Marvin Wallace Solomon
Marvin Wallace Solomon , 87, of Wilkinson, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 2012. He was born April 19, 1924, in Henry County to the late Frank and Margaret (Robertson) Solomon.
Marvin retired from Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis in 1979. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Charlottesville Christian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Jan (Dennis) Fisher of Wilkinson; son, Kurt (Cheryl) Solomon of Wilkinson; granddaughters, Daphne (Keith) Thackery of Shirley, Charis (Phil) George of Petaluma, Calif., Cindy (Scott) Malefyt of Indianapolis, Miriam Solomon and Beth Solomon of Wilkinson; grandson, Greg (Jerilyn) Fisher of Fortville; great-granddaughters, Mariah and Payton Thackery, Alyssa Woods and Clare Malefyt; great-grandson, Jacob Thackery; brothers, Wayne (Martha) Solomon of Lapel, David Solomon of Indianapolis; sisters, Madalene Young of Markleville, Susie Adams of Tampa Fla., and Nellie (David) Wright of Orlando, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lilyan Solomon, in 1999; and grandson, Cory Fisher in 1975.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, with Kurt Solomon and Gary Sickle officiating. Burial will follow at Harlan Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012.
