Joseph Jacob Robinson, age 88, of Lebanon, Ind., died on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born in Madison County, Ind., on Dec. 17, 1922, the son of the late Fred B. and Edith (Franklin) Robinson.
Joe served in the United States Army Air Corp from Feb. 11, 1943, to Oct. 21, 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Clairbelle Robinson of Lebanon, Ind.; children, Jana J. (Jon) McKee of Lebanon, Ind., Teri Smith (Carr) McCalla of Lafayette, La., Bonnie S. (Dale) Smith of Lebanon, Joseph Franklin (Amy) Robinson of Zionsville; Six Grandchildren; a sister Mary V. (Neil) Coffey Neil of Middletown, Ind.; brothers, Benjamin F. Robinson of Alexandria, Va., and Jack L. (Sandy) Robinson of Raleigh, N.C.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Edwards of Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon with Rev.Marcy Patrick Officiating. Funeral Services are to be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 910 Fordice Road, in Lebanon, Ind. Interment will follow military rites at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
