Maxine M. Riggs, 95, of Carthage Ind., passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born in Rush County on Nov. 13, 1915, the daughter of Russell R. Reddick and Margart Vanduyn Reddick.
Maxine graduated from Carthage High School and was a member of the East Street Christan Church. She was a member of CWA, and the Friendly Circle in Charlottesville. She was a homemaker and babysitter for many familys in the Carthage area for many years.
Maxine is survived by one brother, Eugene Reddick; two grandchildren, Kevin Gabbard, and Krista Gabbard; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Cory, and Brady Gabbard; one great-great-grandchild, Isabell Gabbard; one niece, Rhonda Zimmerman; and two great-neices, Amanda and Emily Zimmerman.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dixie Lee Gabbard.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 20, 2011, at Todd Funeral Home, with calling from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. Rev. David Bonne will officate. Burial will be at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
