Anita (Gordon) Bennett, 85, formerly of New Palestine, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, in Ashford Place Health Campus. She was born April 23, 1925, in Rush County, to Elbert Gordon and Bernice Rhodes.
Anita was a secretary for Dr. Robert Cagle and Dr. Lloyd Jones of New Palestine for many years.
Survivors include her son, Lee (Ruth Ann) Bennett; grandson, Bradley Bennett; sister, Luadah Chapman of Clarksville, Ind.; and many neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Bennett in 1995; brother, Francis Gordon; and her sister, Jemima Gordon.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Hendryx Mortuary, 19 E. Main Street, New Palestine. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery.
