Lucille (Lou) M. Rowland, 86, Morristown, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Morristown Manor, Morristown. She was born on Dec.15, 1924, to the late Camille and Stella (Giguere) Lemire in Marquette, Mich.
Lou was a 1942 graduate of Baraga Parochial High School in Marquette, Mich. She was a homemaker, floral designer and also worked in the retail business. She was an excellent seamstress and loved spending time with her family and friends. She left us all with many special momories.
She is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Jerry) Bennett, Greenfield; step-sons, William (Diane) Rowland, Jr., Houston, Texas and L. Ross Rowland, Muncie Ind.; step-daughter, Janet (Mike) Asher, Shelbyville, Ind.; four granddaughters; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Lemire of Joliet, Ill., and Camille Lemire Jr. of Marquette, Mich.; and sister, Rosemary Martin, Dalton, Ill.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband, William Rowland; daughter, Kathleen McDonald; and brother, George Lemire.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at the funeral home, with Father Leon Reuter officiating. Private family graveside services will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
