David O. Nicholson, 72, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. He was born Feb. 18, 1938, in Hancock County to the late Carl Joseph and Julian Elizabeth (Dismore) Nicholson.
David retired from his position at the Greenfield Post Office after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge # 101, Greenfield Elks Lodge and Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years, Joyce (Moss) Nicholson; daughters, Jane Nicholson of Indianapolis, Joylene VanAlst, Julie Lopez (friend, August Bondi) both of Greenfield; son, Jason (Misty) Nicholson of Greenfield; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph C. and Robert Carl Nicholson and daughter, Debbie Rose.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Enyart officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery.
