Food inspections

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

June 12

Getgo

Location: 6073 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

June 22

Domino’s Pizza

Location: 1202 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — person in charge must be able to provide health reporting policy, to be corrected by June 29.

Violations found: C — knives in produce department in knife box had debris, corrected; NC — hand sink in cutting room did not reach 100 degrees, to be corrected by July 23.

June 29

Wasabi Japanese Steak House

Location: 1505 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — eggs on cart by woks are at 70 degrees (need to be held at 41 degrees or below), all food contact surfaces including knives and utensils need to be washed, rinsed and sanitized (not just rinsed), pitcher in hand sink in waitress station and skewers in hand sink at sushi area (sink is for hand washing only), corrected; C — dish machine is not dispensing sanitizer, employee drinks are not in closed containers in kitchen food prep area, corrected; NC/R — ice scoop in waitress area and in kitchen need to be stored in clean protected manner, no paper towels at hand sinks in kitchen, removed mold and debris from walls, shelving and floor under shelves, wiping cloths in sushi area need to be stored in sanitizer water, hand sink in women’s restroom water temperature did not reach 100 degrees, corrected.

Location: 237 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — food debris on shelving in walk-in cooler, debris on door of walk-in cooler, on salt and pepper shakers, proofers paint is chipping off, provide test strips for sanitizer, to be corrected by July 8; C — spray bottle with chemical is not labeled with common name, corrected; NC — single use forks need to be stored handle up, corrected.

Long John Silvers

Location: 2080 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R — finish off walks in walk-in cooler is flaking off, finish on outside of walk-in cooler is “gummy,” floors of kitchen are very slippery and drain has debris, debris under three-compartment sink and table holding tea/coffee maker, debris build-up in walk-in freezer, to be corrected by July 30; C — employee observed dropping raw shrimp into fryer with fingers, corrected.
