The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

July 26

Panda Bear

Location: 21 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC/R – clean handles of freezers, inside freezers, floors in front of freezers, hand-sink handles, soap dispenser, under fryer, reach-in freezer by kitchen entry and walk-in freezer door, to be corrected by Oct. 1.

Huck’s Convenience Food & Fuel

Location: 322 E. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – must date-mark sandwiches, not to exceed seven days, corrected; NC – need to properly thaw product, cannot leave at room temperature, corrected; NC – clean door handles of all units, clean bottom shelf of pizza cooler to remove food debris, to be corrected by Oct. 1.
