The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – need to have employee health policy and review with all staff periodically, corrected; C – raw meat should be stored below egg and milk wash, corrected; C – expired milk, expired; NC – ice scoop must be stored in clean, protected manner away from customers, corrected; NC – thermometer needed in prep cooler, to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC – need thin tipped food thermometer for thin meats such as hamburger patties, chicken strips, etc., to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC – clean hood, grease and fan above prep table to remove grease/grime/dust build up, to be corrected by Oct. 1.
