The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

July 13

Location: 56 W. Main St., New Palestine

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — need employee health policy, review periodically with all staff, corrected; C — cooler running warm, corrected; NC — need thermometers in all refrigerator/cooler units, to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC — need food thermometers with thin tips, to be corrected by July 20; NC — need sanitizing test strips available and used daily, to be corrected by July 20; NC — gap at exterior back door, need to repair/replace to prevent pests, to be corrected by Oct. 1.

Wendy’s

Location: 1508 N. State Road 9, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — cold holding prep tables are too warm, corrected; NC — flooring needs to be repaired so food particles do not lodge into crevices between tiles, to be corrected by Oct. 1.
